Tales from the potty chair...

I have never been so excited about poop as I am today. In a past blog post I talked about the lack of pooping and peeing in the toilet.  And since that post I haven't gotten anywhere with Addisyn on potty training. She just hasn't been interested and I know not to push it on her bc that will only make things worse.

However I am getting more and more frustrated bc I don't like changing diapers. She's 3, I shouldn't be changing diapers. So this morning I decided I would not put a diaper on Addisyn after I changed her night diaper. She threw a fit, at big fit...she wanted her diaper on. I stood firm and told her NO! Big girls do not wear diapers. I got out some of her big girl panties and she wore them for about an hour. I kept asking her if she needed to go potty and she kept telling me no. She tricked me a few times and said she needed to go and even pulled her panties down, sat on her toilet..but nothing....no pee..no poop.

Now it was time to pull out the bribery. I got out some candy....I know I know....I'm a bad mom but hey whatever works right! 

Another hour passed and Addi whined that she wanted some candy, and i told her that as soon as she went potty she could have some candy. She wasn't buying it. 

Then something awesome happened...without me even having to ask if she had to go potty, Addi sat down on her potty chair and went pee!!! I was so excited I wanted to cry! I praised her and praised her...gave her a big hug....we high fived...then I cleaned her up and we put her pee in the big toilet and I let her flush it. She thought that was sooo cool.

Then we celebrated with some candy. Life is good....

About an hour later, Addi went poop on her potty chair..again we high fived...I told her what a big girl she was and we flushed her poop and she got more candy.

I think that we are finally getting somewhere.
